Climate Change Raises Pressure on Biden To Keep Workers Cooler

The Biden administration is creating federal rules to protect workers from extreme heat due to climate change. The Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) plans to publish a heat standard this year, requiring employers to offer worker protections when temperatures reach a set level. The rule is unlikely to be enacted until after November’s presidential election, but if a Republican wins, the heat standard is expected to be abandoned.
