ClickFix Attack Uses Fake Cloudflare Verification to Silently Deploy Malware

The ClickFix social engineering attack uses fake Cloudflare verification pages to trick users into running malicious commands. The scam exploits the familiarity of Cloudflare’s CAPTCHA interface to deceive users. Upon interacting with the fake interface, a hidden script copies an obfuscated command to the user’s clipboard. Users are then tricked into running the command, which can download and execute malware. The scam is highly effective due to the convincing replication of the interface and users’ trust in familiar web security procedures.
