CISA Advisory: #StopRansomware: Black Basta

The Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) and other organizations issued a joint warning about Black Basta, a ransomware-as-a-service (RaaS) variant that has affected 500+ organizations worldwide. The alert is likely related to a recent attack on the health organization, Ascension. Black Basta actors typically use phishing and exploit known vulnerabilities, then encrypt data and demand a ransom. Healthcare entities are advised to apply recommended mitigations to lessen the risk of compromise.
