Chromatin Architecture of Treg Cells May Offer Target for Immunosuppressive Therapies

The protein Foxp3 plays a pivotal role in influencing the immune system by shaping the 3D architecture of regulatory T cells. A study by scientists at the Salk Institute found that Foxp3 directs how a cell’s genes are twisted into a 3D structure, affecting cell behaviour. This research could aid understanding of how our immune system functions and help guide the development of new treatments for autoimmunity and cancer.
