A cyberespionage campaign linked to China has exploited a Check Point VPN flaw to infiltrate organisations primarily in the manufacturing sector across Europe, Africa, and the Americas. The attacks took place between June 2024 and January 2025, and used ShadowPad malware and occasionally NailaoLocker ransomware to breach networks. Check Point, which patched the vulnerability in May 2024, encouraged customers to ensure the patches had been installed.
