Chinese state-backed hackers are exploiting a critical security flaw in SAP NetWeaver to target critical infrastructure networks, including natural gas, water management utilities and medical device manufacturing plants in the UK and US, and Saudi Arabian government ministries. The flaw enables remote code execution, and Dutch cybersecurity firm EclecticIQ has attributed the intrusions to various Chinese hacking groups. Customers of SAP NetWeaver are advised to update their systems to the latest version as soon as possible.
