China continues cyberattacks on routers, this time targeting Juniper Networks devices

Cybersecurity firm Mandiant has warned that a Chinese espionage group, UNC3886, is exploiting routers made by Juniper Networks. The group has previously targeted other network security systems and consistently sought to establish long-term access to systems, using credentials to move undetected within networks. The malware used against Juniper routers shows an in-depth understanding of advanced system internals. Tech firm Mandiant has recommended an upgrade to any organisations using Juniper’s MX routers running outdated software and hardware.
