Several models of Android TV boxes are being shipped with malware, according to cybersecurity experts Human Security. The malware, known as Badbox, potentially affects tens of thousands of devices. The issue could be caused by third parties in the supply chain getting compromised, rather than being the manufacturer’s intent. The threat actors are reportedly offering advertising fraud, fake accounts and remote code installation. They claim to control millions of mobile IP addresses.
