Change Healthcare data-breach class action lawsuit investigation

Change Healthcare, a subsidiary of United Healthcare, suffered a data breach in 2024. Intelligences traced the incident back to a Russian cybercriminal group which exploited outdated technology, accessing about 6 terabytes of data that includes personal and medical records. This information was later found in the dark web. An estimated 131 million patients and providers have potentially been affected. Individuals who believe their data was compromised can now join a class-action lawsuit.
