Change Healthcare breach prompts Nebraska lawsuit

Nebraska Attorney General Mike Hilgers has sued Change Healthcare for its negligent cybersecurity practices which led to a major cyberattack affecting nearly 100 million Americans and disrupting health providers across the country. The lawsuit alleges that the attack led to the deferral of patient care, allowed malicious actors to obtain credit card numbers and placed excessive burden on health providers. UnitedHealth Group, Change Healthcare’s parent company, plans to contest the suit.
