The UnitedHealth healthcare breach of February impacted 100 million Americans, it confirmed this month to the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS). Health and personal information, including insurance, policy numbers, medication, social security numbers, and financial details, were among stolen data. UnitedHealth notified HHS that all impacted individuals had been sent letters. While it is the largest healthcare breach on record, it is significantly smaller than the 2013 Yahoo breach and the National Public Data breach of 2024.
