CDC: No clear relationship between antivirals and COVID ‘rebound’ infection

The CDC has found no consistent association between COVID-19 antiviral treatments and “rebound” infections. Using antivirals like Paxlovid or remdesivir can prevent hospitalization and death in patients at risk of severe disease. The CDC also stressed the necessity of vaccines for nursing home residents against COVID-19, flu, and RSV, but noted worryingly low uptake rates.
