Care home manager struck off after she admits ‘serious breaches’

Barbara Eckersley, the former unit manager at Eccleston Court Care Home in St Helens, has been struck off for not providing vital information to paramedics when a patient suffered a suspected stroke. She also breached regulations during the coronavirus pandemic by not wearing the appropriate PPE and not ensuring suitable infection controls were in place. The Nursing and Midwifery Council deemed she failed to uphold the expected standards of a nurse practitioner.
