Cambridge Hospitals Admit Two Excel-Based Data Breaches

Cambridge University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust has admitted to two historic cases of accidental patient data leaks. The breaches occurred when patient data was accidentally included in Excel spreadsheets contending Freedom of Information requests. The affected data comprised information from over 22,000 maternity patients and 373 cancer patients. The latter group has been contacted directly, but the former has not due to sensitivities around the undisclosed pregnancies.
