Buggy CrowdStrike EDR Update Crashes Windows Systems Worldwide

A faulty update to CrowdStrike Falcon Sensor, an endpoint detection and prevention program, caused Microsoft servers worldwide to crash. Major disruptions occurred, affecting airlines, businesses, healthcare providers, and banks, among others. The bug, which was missed in testing, caused the Falcon sensor to consume all of a CPU core’s functionality, leading to performance issues. Although fixed, some users continue to experience problems.
