Boeing is investigating a cyber attack impacting its parts and distribution business. The incident follows claims from criminal gang Lockbit that it had stolen a large volume of data from Boeing. The company did not confirm if Lockbit was responsible but stated the hack did not impact flight safety. Lockbit was the most active global ransomware group in 2020, with 1,700 US organizations targeted since 2020.
