Blue Shield of California has partnered with appointment scheduling platform Zocdoc to make finding and booking in-network providers easier for its six million members. This is Zocdoc’s first collaboration with a health plan. The technology is free for in-network providers and enables patients to see real-time provider availability and book appointments within a 90-day window directly via Blue Shield’s website. One survey reveals 61% of consumers regard online appointment booking as crucial when choosing a new health provider.
