Cybersecurity firm BeyondTrust has finished an investigation into a major security breach. The incident, targeting some of the firm’s Remote Support SaaS instances, was carried out using a compromised API key and affected 17 customers. BeyondTrust has revoked the compromised key and blocked affected instances. The US Treasury Department was among the impacted parties; no other federal agencies were affected. The breach has been linked to China-based Silk Typhoon.
