Beware: Off-Brand Android devices may be infected by Badbox malware | Technology News

Android malware ‘Badbox’, infecting at least 1,92,000 devices globally, operates by converting the device into a “residential proxy”, facilitating ad fraud. Federal Office of Information Security in Germany found that the malware targets devices with outdated firmware. Majorly hitting countries such as Russia, China, and India, its symptoms include device overheating and high CPU usage. Google stated that infected devices lack Play Protect certification.
