Before moving from “analogue to digital,” the NHS has to fix its privacy flaws

The UK government plans to create a centralized database called “patient passports” for NHS services to expedite patient care and reduce errors. However, concerns over data security and privacy have been raised as NHS has a track record of not protecting patient data, with several data leaks in the past years. The government’s plan to ensure anonymity and data protection is still in the consultation stage.
