BBC Staff Data Breach Claim

In June 2023, the BBC’s payroll service provider Zellis fell prey to a cyber-attack, compromising personal data of BBC employees. The breach exposed ID numbers, names, dates of birth, national insurance numbers, addresses, email addresses, and employment details of BBC staff. The incident occurred due to a vulnerability in a file transfer tool used by Zellis. Employees affected may be entitled to compensation for distress and financial losses. Legal firm Leigh Day is investigating potential claims.
