Medical devicemaker B. Braun SE has acquired True Digital Surgery, a company that develops robotic-assisted 3D surgical microscopes.
The acquisition brings the company under B. Braun’s surgical division and aims to improve the devicemaker’s AEOS digital microscope system, which is used in brain, spine, ear, nose and throat surgeries, according to a Sept. 12 news release from the company.
The robotic-assisted microscopes for surgery are becoming more common as hospitals move away from older, analog microscopes, the release said.
