AWS says Amazon Textract is now HIPAA-eligible

Amazon Web Services has announced that its Textract machine learning technology is now HIPAA-eligible, meaning that healthcare organisations can more easily extract data from scanned documents. Textract can analyse various types of documents without requiring human intervention or customisation. Other cloud-based AI tools from Amazon, including Translate, Comprehend, Transcribe, Polly, SageMaker, and Rekognition, are also HIPAA-eligible. Several healthcare companies, including Cambia Health Solutions and Change Healthcare, are already using Textract to streamline administrative processes and create value for patients, payers, and providers.
