A newly-discovered Android malware, FireScam, is being spread through a fake version of the Telegram Premium app on phishing sites imitating Russia’s RuStore. On installation, it asks for extensive permissions and captures user credentials. It can maintain persistent communication with a remote database, track user activity, and steal valuable information. The malware uses advanced evasion techniques, making it extremely dangerous.

The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) has fined Elgon Information Systems $80,000 following a ransomware attack in 2023 that saw over 31,000
