An international law enforcement operation has disrupted an online software crypting syndicate aiding cybercriminals. Four domains and their related server offering counter-antivirus tools were seized by the FBI. The operation targeted AVCheck, a major counter-antivirus service used by cybercriminals globally. The investigators purchased and analysed services from seized websites, confirming their design for cybercrime. Wider interventions were also made, including a fake login page to deter AVCheck users. The seizures form part of Operation Endgame, which aims to dismantle cybercriminal services.
