Australia’s blueprint for privacy reform-what you need to do today

The Australian Government, on September 28, 2023, proposed major changes to the country’s privacy regulations. This includes new reforms targeting digital safety and cybersecurity resilience. Key changes include requiring organisations to be transparent about how they use automated decision-making, tougher enforcement measures for data breaches, and a deeper focus on privacy governance. Draft legislation for these reforms is expected in 2024, recommending stakeholders start preparing for these changes right away.
