Attackers are pummeling networks around the world with millions of login attempts

Cisco’s Talos security team has warned over a comprehensive credential exposure campaign, indiscriminately targeting networks for unauthorised VPN, SSH, and web application access. The campaign, which uses both generic and specific usernames for different organisations, operates via around 4,000 IPs, likely from TOR exit nodes and anonymising proxies. Networks’ vulnerabilities to these attempts include unauthorised network access, account lockouts, and denial-of-service issues.
