Atrium Health breach: Data from 2.65M patients potentially exposed

Billing information for 2.65 million people may have been compromised in a cyber incident involving the databases of vendor AccuDoc Solutions at Atrium Health. The unauthorized access occurred between September 22 and September 29. A forensic review found that the third party may have accessed patients’ personal information, such as social security numbers, birth dates, and addresses, but no financial information or medical records were compromised. This incident is one of the larger healthcare breaches in recent memory.
