ASUS Armoury Crate Vulnerability Lets Hackers Gain System-Level Access on Windows

A serious vulnerability in ASUS’s Armoury Crate software has threatened millions of Windows users with potential system compromise. The flaw permits attackers a full system control, potentially ushering in malware, ransomware, and other advanced threats. The issue resides in Armoury Crate’s kernel driver’s authorization mechanism, which relies on a hardcoded SHA-256 hash rather than appropriate Windows security controls. ASUS has released a security update, strongly advising all users to update immediately.
