Cyber espionage group, Arid Viper, has been targeting Arabic-speaking Android users with spyware through counterfeit dating apps. The malware hides itself on contaminated Android devices and can access the user’s microphone, camera, and contacts. It can also retrieve system information and download additional malware hidden under regular app names. Arid Viper is believed to be associated with the Islamist militant group, Hamas.
