The OpenNotes Lab at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center (BIDMC) is collaborating with clinical genAI developer Abridge to explore the use of artificial intelligence (AI) in creating patient visit summaries. The goal is to improve transparency, promote health equity, and enhance collaborations between patients and clinicians. The project will initially involve focus groups of patients evaluating AI-generated visit summaries for accuracy and usefulness, among other efficacy measures. No actual patient data will be used in this phase.
