Apple MacBook users at risk: New malware threatens 100 million devices – how it spreads

A new Banshee malware variant puts the online security of 100 million macOS users at risk, stealing users’ browser credentials, cryptocurrency wallets, and other sensitive data undetected. Security researchers at Check Point Research detected the malware, which evades antivirus software to operate covertly. The leak of Banshee’s source code in November 2024 has allowed antivirus software creators to better detect the malware.
