Appeals court rejects challenge to Tennessee, Kentucky gender-affirming care bans

A US federal appeals court has ruled that Tennessee and Kentucky can maintain bans on gender-affirming care for minors. The ruling, which overturns earlier injunctions, stated the states’ lawmakers had made “precise cost-benefit decisions” and “did not trigger any reason for judges to second-guess them”. LGBTQ advocates have criticised the decision but vowed to fight on.
