Open enrollment for the Affordable Care Act (ACA) Marketplaces saw a record high of 21.3 million people signing up for coverage, driven largely by enhanced subsidies in the American Rescue Plan Act and the Inflation Reduction Act. Growth was mostly observed in Texas, Florida, and Georgia. Some of the increase in marketplace sign-ups can be attributed to the mid-year growth in individual market enrollment, an uncommon occurrence, and the closing of the family glitch by the Biden administration in 2023.
