Cybersecurity firm McAfee has identified a form of Android malware, ‘Xamalicious’, rigged within 14 mobile apps, which has affected over 338,000 devices. Xamalicious, a .NET-based malware, is embedded in apps developed using the Xamarin framework and can execute commands and conduct ad fraud. Although the infected apps have been removed from Google Play, users who downloaded them since mid-2020 need manual intervention to purge their devices.
