Cybersecurity vendor Human Security has warned that tens of thousands of Android devices have been shipped with backdoored firmware, infected with the Triada malware as part of the BadBox operation. These compromised devices enable threat actors to conduct ad-fraud schemes and sell access to victims’ networks. The backdoor also allows them to remotely install new apps or code without the device owner’s permission.
