Americans to get $5,000 checks from $1.1m data breach settlement – and you only need a receipt as proof

Columbus Regional Healthcare System (CRHS) has agreed to a $1.1 million settlement following a major data breach in 2023 where patient’s sensitive information was exposed. Claimants can now file for compensation up to $5,000 for fraud losses and credit monitoring fees, plus a share of the remaining settlement fund, estimated at $50 per person.
