American Express is adding facial and fingerprint recognition to its SafeKey online checkout process in a bid to enhance security and combat fraud. The enhanced features will be trialled in a pilot program for select card members, using Web Authentication technologies for heightened security. All US Consumer Card Members are expected to have access by early 2024.
