AI in health care raising privacy concerns

UPMC, a health care provider in Pennsylvania, uses an AI platform to transcribe and summarise patient-doctor conversations. More than 10,000 patient visits have been recorded so far. The firm has multiple security safeguards to protect this data, including access controls and encryption. A cybersecurity expert warns that AI simplifies data access for hackers, hence health institutions need to be cautious.
