AI Helps Predict Cardiac Arrhythmias in Lung Cancer Patients

Researchers at Brigham and Women’s Hospital used AI to study the risk of cardiac arrhythmias in lung cancer patients undergoing radiation therapy. They found that one in six patients experienced a serious event requiring intervention. They also discovered a correlation between major adverse cardiac events and arrhythmias. The research will help to identify high-risk cardiac areas, screen for arrhythmias, and encourage collaboration to minimize cardiac toxicity.
