VirusTotal, a Google-owned threat intelligence-sharing platform, in its latest research found that AI is much more effective in analyzing malicious code and detecting threats than traditional techniques. The company analysed hundreds of thousands of malware samples over six months and found AI to be 70% more effective in identifying malicious scripts, and 300% more accurate in detecting attempts to exploit common vulnerabilities. AI can also help simplify malware analysis for those without specialised knowledge.
