Nebraska Attorney General Mike Hilgers has sued Change Healthcare following a major data breach affecting tens of millions of people. The suit alleges the technology company, which processes prescriptions and insurance claims, had outdated cybersecurity systems and took more than a week to detect the breach, leaving customers uninformed for months. The breach, which stole the personal data of approximately 575,000 Nebraskans, began in February when an employee’s login details were posted on Telegram.
