Addressing behavioral health resources and costs in Ohio

Ohio is combating its shortfall in behavioral health resources through Alera Health’s population management tools. The Ohio Behavioral Health Providers Network (OBHPN) will partner with Alera to improve the integration of mental health care. Furthermore, Miami University has provided $1 million in funding for the Southern Ohio Behavioral Health Corridor, supporting the training of future behavioral health practitioners committed to rural areas. The state has a 51% lower per capita supply of mental health providers compared with the national average, according to the Appalachian Regional Commission.
