The San Diego Supercomputer Center is a heavy user of cloud computing for healthcare, deploying a secure hybrid cloud environment to support critical applications such as cancer research. While a hybrid cloud offers scalability and automation, it also presents challenges in terms of data security and compliance. The center has developed end-to-end managed services and custom systems to address these challenges, while also managing risk through vulnerability management and network protection. The center continues to fine-tune its operations to adapt to the realities of business operations.
