The flaw exploited in the Ivanti Endpoint Manager Mobile software had been identified and patched, but systems previously compromised remained vulnerable. Cybersecurity firm EclecticIQ traced the hack across the UK, US and Germany, with the methods indicating possible China-based hackers. NHS England is investigating the incident alongside the National Cybersecurity Centre (NCSC).
