Malware-infected printer delivered something extra to Windows users

The Shenzen-based company Procolored, which sells UV printers, has been linked to malware vulnerabilities. Cybersecurity researcher Cameron Coward found that a model of the Procolored V11 printer and an accompanying USB drive contained Floxif, a malware strain that enables remote access and control of the host computer. Despite initial denial from the company, further investigation revealed two additional malware strains, potentially introduced via USB. Procolored has since pledged to solve the problem by conducting stringent checks.
