Yale New Haven Health, Connecticut’s biggest healthcare system, has experienced a data breach affecting over 5.5 million people. The breach occurred during a cyberattack on March 8, compromising the personally identifiable information and some medical data of patients. While investigations are ongoing, the organisation noted that electronic health records and financial info were not accessed. Yale New Haven Health is offering credit monitoring and identity theft protection services to affected individuals. The data can be potentially used for identity theft and other fraudulent activities.
