Software foundation Chainguard has launched Chainguard Libraries for Python, an index of malware-resistant Python dependencies. The libraries were built on SLSA L2 infrastructure to provide a secure source of Python libraries. As Python has grown in popularity, so has the risk of malware attacks, with public registries offering minimal protection. Chainguard Libraries for Python aim to cover this security gap by ensuring included malware cannot disrupt developers’ workflows or leak data.
