A data breach at Blue Shield of California has exposed protected health data of around 4.7 million customers due to a misconfiguration of Google Analytics. The company has claimed that sensitive details such as Social Security numbers, credit card information and driving license numbers were not compromised. However, details like insurance plan name, type, and group number amongst other information were exposed. Blue Shield have taken steps to prevent future breaches.
