The Asia-Pacific region has seen a spike in system intrusions, with 80% of data breaches coming from such attacks, up from 38% last year, according to the 2025 Data Breach Investigations Report by Verizon Business. Three tactics accounted for 97% of breaches: system intrusion, social engineering, and basic web application attacks. The number of malware incidents has also risen to 83%, with ransomware making up 51% of breaches.
